ep.1 Getting started

It's always daunting starting something new. In 2023 we sold our house and moved into our motorhome full time. After 2.5 years on the road we began looking at ways to make an income while travelling. Being that I am a bricklayer, I really didn’t have many options laid out before me. In this time spent living in our motorhome, travelling across Europe, I have had plenty of time to gain clarity without external influence. Quietly drawing close to God whilst enjoying the humbling feeling of his presence whilst looking out over mountains, forests and lakes. The creator didn't hesitate when designing the earth and it's absolutely incredible. We are so blessed! Living in such a small space means we don’t have a vast wardrobe. Two of my t-shirts however are “christian” t-shirts that I ordered online. Little did I realise I had ordered them from America. The more I researched, the more it became clear that there just aren’t many UK branded christian clothing stores out there. The more my wife, Anna, and I looked into making an income on the road, the more I felt convicted to start a christian clothing brand. After a few weeks of debating the idea, I was reading my bible and praying one morning, as I do every morning, and read the verse:

2 Corinthians 9:10-15

“10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

11 Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.12 So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.

13 As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ. 14 And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you. 15 Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!”

And in that moment, I felt reassured that this is going to be something way bigger than just an online store. With God as the centre point of the entire organisation, Pray and Wait will be so much more. I didnt have any experience in sales or designing/maintaining an online store but what I did have experience in was God’s goodness and direction. Over weeks of praying my heart felt stirred and directed to just going for it. We are praying into fruition big ambitious goals way beyond just providing you guys with clothing and prayers. We are Praying, Just Wait and you’ll see.

For our very first Blog post we are jumping in and I am challenging you to "go for it". If you are feeling like you have a calling on your life or a conviction to do something but likewise you feel out of your depth or overwhelmed; just go for it. Thinking of writing a book? Just pick up the pen and start writing. Thinking of starting a YouTube? Just pick up the camera and press record. You will make mistakes, you will feel deflated, you'll have times where you feel like giving up. Fun fact, did you know that “Fear Not” is the most used phrase in the bible? It is mentioned a whopping 365 times. ironically one for every day of the year. Very fitting! Just hang in there and give it back to God, aka... Pray and Wait.

Father, 

We thank you for the person reading our first Blog. We pray that you will give them courage and comfort as you speak to them, test them, challenge them and prompt them into starting something new that may be out of their comfort zone. We take great comfort In knowing that you are supporting us and When we stumble and fall short, you always pick us back up. Your timing is always perfect and you do not make mistakes. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to grow on a daily basis. We pray that the reader has a great day and that you would be with them.
